Snipply is built on a simple principle: your code is yours. We collect nothing, track nothing, and share nothing. Everything stays on your device.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Snipply mobile application (the "App"), developed and published by an individual developer. Snipply is a personal code snippet manager designed for developers on Android.
This document explains what information we handle, how we handle it, and what rights you have. We encourage you to read it in full — it is brief, because our privacy practices are straightforward.
If you have any questions about this policy, you may contact us at the email address provided in the Contact section below.
Snipply does not collect, record, transmit, or process any personal information whatsoever — from you, your device, or your usage of the App.
We do not collect:
The App functions entirely without an internet connection. No outbound network requests are made at any point during normal operation.
All data you create within Snipply — including snippets, folders, tags, and settings — is stored exclusively in a local database on your device using Hive, a lightweight offline key-value store.
You retain full ownership and control of your data at all times. We have no mechanism to access, retrieve, or delete your data — because we never receive it.
Snipply requests the absolute minimum permissions necessary to function. Below is the complete list of Android permissions declared in the App manifest:
The following permissions are not requested or used:
Snipply does not integrate any third-party SDKs, services, or libraries that collect user data or communicate with external servers.
The App contains no:
All open-source libraries used in the App (Flutter framework, Hive, flutter_highlight, Provider, etc.) operate entirely locally and do not transmit data externally.
Snipply does not knowingly collect any personal information from users of any age, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
Since the App collects no data whatsoever, it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations by design.
If you believe a minor has provided personal information through the App in any way, please contact us immediately — although we emphasize that no such mechanism exists within the App.
Since Snipply does not collect or process any personal data, conventional data rights (such as rights of access, erasure, or portability under GDPR or CCPA) are satisfied by default — there is no data held by us to act upon.
However, you have full practical control over your data:
The most secure data is data that is never transmitted. Because Snipply operates fully offline, there is no risk of data breaches, server-side vulnerabilities, or unauthorized remote access.
Physical access to an unlocked device by an unauthorized party is the primary security risk — the same risk that applies to all local-storage applications. We recommend enabling a secure screen lock on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, applicable laws, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
The most current version of this Privacy Policy is always available at this URL and within the App under Settings → Privacy Policy. Continued use of the App after any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Given the nature of the App — fully offline with no data collection — changes to this policy are expected to be infrequent and minor.
