Citer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All quotes you save — including text, authors, and tags — are stored exclusively on your device using local storage. No data is sent to any server at any time.
The camera permission is used solely for the OCR (text scanning) feature. Images captured for OCR are processed on-device by Google ML Kit and are never uploaded or stored beyond the session.
The optional backup feature exports your data as a JSON file to a location of your choosing (local storage or Google Drive). Citer does not have access to your Google account credentials.
